Ronan Taylor - Director

 

Ronan has worked in numerous fields within natural sciences, including herpetology, arachnology and paleoecology. He has engaged in research projects on four different continents and has worked with organizations such as the Smithsonian Institution and TED. He has a deep love of nature and science and the natural world. He founded BRS after his research into human impacts on the environment throughout history led him to realize that no truly wild spaces remain on the planet and that extensive research will have to be done to restore them.

Sonia Kurian - Communications

Sonia is currently a rising sophomore in Northeastern University, Boston (Economics and Environmental Science Major). She founded Sentient Movement: an organization meant to instill societal perception change by addressing the overall lack of empathy in when handling matters with the sentientworld. The disconnect between the human and nonhuman world has led to cynicism, apathy, obliviousness: the growth and spread of a three-headed malignancy. She also has experience working on Indigenous protection projects in the Tapajos-Valley, Brazil.

Mark Horler - CEA Advisor

Mark has been involved in the Vertical Farming industry for around 10 years. He is the Founder and Chairman of UK Urban AgriTech (UKUAT) collective, bringing together the leading companies, universities and individuals in the UK urban agritech industry. He is also Communications Manager at The FarmTech Society, the Founder of CEA Proteins, and does freelance consulting work across the industry. In his work he has dealt extensively with industry standardization, sustainability certification, vertical farming education and vertical farming policy. His expertise is in building networks and associations that maximize value for their members, and for the industry as a whole. Mark’s primary interest is in taking a systemic overview of how vertical farming can be integrated with other systems, to deliver on its promises of regenerative food production and resilient societies.
